This introductory level course will greatly enhance your understanding of reptile surveys and give you confidence in handling reptiles. The course is especially relevant to consultancy as a huge proportion of consultancy work during the summer months involves reptile surveying and translocation projects.
During this one day course you will:
- Learn to identify UK reptile species.
- Learn best practice in handling of reptiles (including slow worms and non-native snakes).**
- Carry out a field survey for reptiles.
- Learn about surveying and mitigation strategies.
The course is part classroom and part field based. Please note that during the course, you will be required to walk up to 3 km on uneven ground, so please be sure that you are capable of this before booking.

The course will be held at the Carymoor Environmental Centre, Dimmer Lane, Castle Cary, Somerset.

Timings:
The course will start at 9:30 am and will finish at around 3:30 pm.
