Bats: Architectural Terms for Bat Workers is an online, self-study course designed to give you a broad knowledge of architectural terms. Ecologists and bat workers often have to communicate with builders and architects who require them to describe and understand buildings. Understanding the correct terminology will lead to better, more efficient communication. You will be able to help builders and architects design and produce mitigation for bats in buildings and developments.
Course format: Bats: Architectural Terms for Bat Workers is delivered as three online modules which will be available as soon as you book. The modules will include some quiz questions so you can test yourself as you go through. At the end of the course, there is a short quiz. If you get over 70%, you will receive a Certificate. Following your successful completion of the course, you will also be given access to an Architectural Terms Cheat Sheet that you can print out and take to the site with you.
Time commitment: Each module takes around 1-3 hours, depending on whether you do any further research.
Learning outcomes: By the end of the course, you will have an awareness of a range of architectural terms. You will be able to effectively describe buildings, write reports, create diagrams or discuss buildings with architects or builders on site. You will gain a wider knowledge of the subject that will help you become a better ecologist and bat worker.
