Bat Ecology and surveying is perfect for anyone wishing to know more about bats, or anyone starting to work towards their bat licence. This is a comprehensive self-study course that will give you an overview of the ecology of bats, the legislation surrounding them and how to survey them both in buildings and in the landscape.
This course is the equivalent to our 2-day Bat Ecology and Surveying course with videos of your tutor carrying out surveys. If you would prefer a more hands-on experience check here for availability of our face-to-face courses.
The course is run by Sue Searle BSc, PGDip, MCIEEM, Principal Ecologist with over 20 years’ experience as a bat worker.
Bat Ecology and Surveying is a package of 3 of our online courses:
- Introduction to Bats
- Surveying Buildings
- Bat Activity Surveys: Emergence and Transects
You will need to do all three of these courses to get your Certificate.

Allow 2 hours for this part of the course.
