Protected Species Awareness
Are you a Developer, Architect, Road/Rail vegetation clearance company or a Contractor? Then this popular course is for you.
With so much protected species legislation these days it is important for people to be aware of protected species on site and to know when to call an ecologist.
When developing, clearing or managing sites, are you aware of your legal obligations with regards to protected species? Do you really know how to identify protected wildlife and when a breach in legislation may occur? Does your organisation have the right policies, procedures and training in place to avoid breaking the law with regards to wildlife?
With recent changes and strengthening in protected species legislation, more and more organisations are finding they need an awareness of protected species to avoid falling foul of the planning system or the law.
We can offer a thorough and cost-effective training package covering protected species legislation, ecology, identification and field signs, an overview of mitigation and enhancement measures, and dos and don’ts.
The course will be taught by experts in their field, all full members of CIEEM and Principal or Senior Ecologists with many years experience so delegates can ask as many questions as they like to make sure they fully understand the material.
This course is usually covered in a day, but we can tailor it to suit your requirements. Please let us know if there is something specific you need from the course. We are always happy to discuss the course outline with you. We can host courses at our training centres, or come to your place of work. Where possible, we will try and incorporate a field visit where appropriate.
