An inspiring week-long trip to experience the ecology of boreal forests and wetlands in central Sweden. 25th June – 2nd July 2023!

Highlights will include canoeing through beaver territories, exploring ancient boreal forests and visiting a 6000-hectare rewilding site! We also hope to see plenty of charismatic northern flora and fauna.

Led by Stefan Taylor, one of ETUK’s ‘Certificate in Ecological Consultancy’ students who has been leading wildlife trips here since 2017. Also leading will be our own Sue Searle, Principal Ecologist and Senior Tutor for ETUK.

We stay in a traditional wooden farmhouse next to the Black River – home to beavers, cranes, white-tailed eagles and more. Full board in twin rooms with a single supplement available. Vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free catered for.

Daily excursions by Land Rover, but also free time to explore on foot or by bicycle (bike rental included) during the long daylight hours of the northern summer.

Includes :

  • Transfers from Vasteras train station to the accommodation
