Discover the Wild Heart of Europe: Biodiversity and Wildlife in Southeast Poland

Join us on this amazing trip and immerse yourself in the stunning landscape of the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains in southern Poland. Alongside our expert guides, you will discover the spectacular array of birds, invertebrates, plants, reptiles and mammals that call this place home.

Dates: June 13th-20th 2025

Watch as eagles soar overhead, listen to the buzzing of insects in meadows and the dawn is filled with birdsong. Dive into the fascinating world of reptiles and amphibians, as the region’s cool streams and forests provide refuge for species like smooth snakes, sand lizards, and various species of newts and frogs. In the evenings, you can watch bats emerging from their roosts with our bat experts and spot beavers hard at work on their dams in their own hand-made wetlands. Learn to interpret the tracks and signs of wildlife, following subtle clues that reveal the presence of elusive mammals such as wolves and lynx. Enjoy the amazing insect life in the species rich meadows and hear what real Biodiversity sounds like!

The local history, culture and architecture is also fascinating and the area boasts many wooden churches (some of which are bat roosts!). There was a strong Russian presence in the area during WW2 and this has affected the area but with interesting results.

This adventure is ideal for wildlife lovers, birders, botanists, and photographers and anyone who wants to see real biodiversity in action. Join us on an unforgettable trip through one of Europe’s most ecologically diverse areas, where every step offers a new discovery. And reconnect with the wonders of the natural world, the like of which are no longer seen in the UK.
