Badgers are frequently encountered on development sites so it is important that ecologists know how to survey for them, how to recognise their field signs and have a good understanding of their ecology. This introductory level course will be part classroom and part field based and will be taught by an experienced ecologist from Ecology Training UK.

Course content:

  • Rural and urban badger ecology
  • Identification of field signs
  • Surveying for badgers
  • Visiting and mapping of badger setts

During the course we will take a visit to an extensive badger sett where you can practice identifying field signs and mapping a sett.

Location:

The course will be held at St Luke’s Church Rooms, 32 School Lane, Countess Wear, Exeter, EX2 6LB. The Training Room is not far from the motorway so is easy to reach by car. There are also fairly frequent buses from the centre of Exeter, so arriving by public transport is a feasible option.

Joining Instructions, Directions and nearby Accommodation information can be found and downloaded within your courses once purchased.

You will need to bring a packed lunch. Joining Instructions, Directions and nearby Accommodation information can be found and downloaded within your courses once purchased.
