3-Day Field Course

Join us in West Devon at Coombeshead Rewilding for an unforgettable experience at this amazing rewilding site owned by Derek Gow, a very well-known rewilder and species reintroduction expert and the man responsible for re-introducing beavers to the UK.

The field courses are held several times a year in the summer months. Simply attend the one most convenient to you.

Assignment and Exam

You will write a management plan for a rewilding site and this will involve exploring methods to find, fund, manage and monitor your site. Along with an exam on the topics covered in your online courses. This will be a 1.5 hour multiple choice online exam.

What is included: All online courses, webinars and the field course.

What is not included: Transport, accommodation and food. There is a campsite and shepherd’s huts at Coombeshead Rewilding and local B&B. The nearest train station is in Okehampton and is about 25 mins by taxi. There is plenty of parking on site. For food in the evenings we may visit a pub or cook on an open fire or in the pizza oven. You will need to provide a packed lunch daily.

What You Need To Know!

What happens when I book? You will be given instructions on how to book all the courses within the Certificate and once you have done that you can start your studies straight away.

How long will the course take? On average this course will take around 1 year to complete if you are working full time. However, if you have more time, you can complete it sooner. You just need to complete all aspects of the course before you can graduate.  Allow around 5 hours a week minimum for your studies. You have up to 2 years to complete the course.
