As part of the Certificate in Ecological Consultancy you will commence the course with this 5-day webinar and activity based Core Skills Week. This is a great opportunity to gain essential skills, meet your tutor and your fellow students.

Places are limited and provided on a first come first serve basis.

The week will give you a chance to learn the Core Skills through 3 courses: Phase 1 Habitat Mapping (1 day), Surveying for Protected Species (2 day) and Site Assessment and Report-Writing (2 day). There will be assessments for Phase 1 and Surveying for Protected Species but you will get separate certificates for these. You will also be expected to complete a Phase 1 Habitat map of a site near you (e.g. a playing field, village green or similar).

There will also be some additional tutorials during the week.

On Day 1 we will start at 9.30am with introductions. Each day you will work through some videos and we will convene for a discussion on the day’s topic(s) in the late morning or afternoon. This is your opportunity to ask questions of your tutor and add anything into the discussion that other students might find helpful.
