Product Details

Beavers are living in various parts of the UK now and they are transforming rivers. This biodiversity champion is on it's way to becoming widely accepted as a British wildlife species. Now is the time to find out more about them as Beaver experts will be needed across the country. They have already gained protected species status in Scotland and it is only a matter of time before they are protected in England and Wales.

The course will take place in Otterton, Devon, home of one of Britain’s only wild beaver populations. During the course you will learn about:

In the classroom:

  • Ecology
  • Beaver introductions
  • Conservation
  • How beavers help the landscape
  • Legislation
  • Surveying

In the field:

  • Tracks and signs

There will be a field trip to the River Otter to see beaver signs in the afternoon.

The course will be held at Otterton Village Hall, 44-56 Fore St, Otterton, Budleigh Salterton EX9 7JF (see attached information about public transport and directions).

The course will begin at 10:00am and finish at 4-4:30pm and there will be an optional beaver watch in the evening.
